The program for the revue, "Away From Home" | The show that started it all!
Before White Elephant was so christened by Viktor and Fae, the first line-up for the Society included performers culled from the New Jersey shadowcast for the Rocky Horror Picture Show: The Home of Happiness.
Fae was asked by her friend, the organizer of the event SalonCon in its first year, to help create a 20-minute showcase of various women (and a man!) for the audience. Fae called upon Viktor to help tie everything to together with an emcee bit, and together they put on their first five performances ever.
While it was WE's first show in 2007 that gave a name to the troupe, the overwhelming support that the performers received is what led to everything else, and WE is eternally grateful for it.

Commentary"When I first started SalonCon, I felt we would really benefit from having a burlesque act added to our event. I approached Genevieve about it and was thrilled when she said she would put something together for me. When I first went to see the show, I was nervous. Would it be what I imagined? The answer was that it was much better than I could have ever imagined. I got teary eyed and felt goosebumps. It has been such an honor and privilege to see WEBS troupe grow into something far bigger and better than I ever could have imagined and I am so very proud to have been there from the inception. If you haven't seen them yet, you must. They are what burlesque is supposed to be."
