The first weekend of summer. I feel more relaxed just saying that. Get out his weekend and enjoy it and all that Baristaville has to offer.
[...] On Saturday, have a picnic. The 1st annual Pride Celebration Picnic takes place in Maplewood’s Memorial Park on “The Hill.” It will be a fun community event for the whole family, that will serve as a catalyst for launching a full blown PrideFest in 2012. The organizers encourage you to go and “Support equality, eat, enjoy some fine conversation with your friends and neighbors… boogie to some errant music, get your face painted like a leopard, lose your mind in the bouncy castle…Some of that might be for the kids.”
After the picnic, continue your pride celebration and support at Piano’s Bar & Grill in Bloomfield. The White Elephant Burlesque Society is back at Pianos for their second Cabaret Night, which is “gloriously dedicated to the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex, and ally in all of us!“ White Elephant Burlesque Society mixes a “gypsy cabaret approach with vaudevillian burlesque.” The performance features bawdy humor, salacious dancing and fun and you’ll have a chance to win “a sinisterly sexy door prize!”
