As a founding director of The White Elephant Burlesque Society, Femme Fae La Butche has been around the burlesque block for just over five years. She's appeared at Webster Hall, the Rochester Erotic Arts Festival, Wicked Faire, Steampunk World's Faire, PiCon, Rockstars & Strippers, The Floating World, Libertine Ball, Salon Con, Dorian's Parlor, Court of Lazarus, HyperGender, Five Minute Follies, and at other notable events in and around the tri-state area. Fae can be seen cutting a rug in Voltaire's music video "Happy Birthday, My Olde Friend" and also had the honor to perform with Brian Viglione of the Dresden Dolls. Amanda Palmer, the other half of the Dresden Dolls, has referred to one of Fae's signature numbers (with fellow elephant Gretchen Violetta) as "two hot buxom girls in what looks like a stolen insurance board room doing burlesque." In the White Elephant Burlesque Society, she is known as the "Mama" of the troupe and also dons the hats of co-director, choreographer, singer, dancer, writer, and driver. She has been praised for her voice, body, dancing, comedic timing, and the overall smoldering joy she brings to the stage. Whether it's a vaudevillian send up that she shimmies along with or a steamy torch song she croons to an audience, Femme Fae La Butche is a diverse force to be reckoned with...and thoroughly enjoyed. | ||
