Some news.

Some news. 79710956_1121655448004754_895672028936273920_n-92This January 15th, 2020 will be a monumental one for me. It is a celebration of 5 years at Rockbar, which welcomed us on a chilly January 12th, 2015. It also will be the 4th annual Silver Tusk Awards, which is a silly opportunity to give love to your colleagues in an award show format (as always, the stakes are low but we're a competitive people--it's not that serious) to reflect and acknowledge our own limited fame but to revel in our communal industry.

And it will be the last show that I produce regularly for White Elephant Burlesque at Rockbar. As many of you know, I have been back and forth to California and New York and New Jersey for the last two 1/2 years, and it is time to properly live on the west coast and _visit_ the east coast when I can. This means I'll be back--I'll always be back--but I need to actually begin to really live in California and make decisions that cement that. For some time now, I've been going to California and I really need to start _staying_ and _living_ in California.

White Elephant Burlesque is my heart--when it began 13 years ago, it was never a hobby for me. It was a passion, a business, and a beloved burden. It will, as far as I ever plan to, never go away. Rockbar, as it has been its home, will continue on producing quality content and I know both WEBurlesque and Rockbar have learned so much from each other. Whether or not a burlesque show (or a few) continue at Rockbar is still to be decided and planned, and whether one of those shows is under the White Elephant Burlesque heading has not yet been settled on. But know that it has been one of my great pleasures in life to run a weekly show in Manhattan when such a prospect was never promised, and the experience has been so overwhelming, so exhausting, and so, so rewarding.

As I will continue to perform (I can't not), WEBurlesque will always exist. I do hope to bring it to California in the coming year, but have no deadline. I return for a stint in March thru April to host the NJ Burlypicks, maybe do a local festival, and bring my car to the west. After that, see you when I see you.

Thank you for your support, your love, and all that do.
To help me out, you can come to my last shows at Rockbar: this Wednesday December 18th, Wednesday January 1st, and Wednesday January 15th. You can also buy merch, throw me money at Venmo because these last few bursting-at-the-seams productions are going to cost me out of pocket like no one's business. For real, I'm at www.patreon.com/weburlesque and venmo @viktor-devonne -- tip me out, folks; I've been spending hundreds on UPS.

Love you. Always.

Viktor
